Don't at all mean to be snotty, but, why is he signing autographs?

Has he been in something which was or soon to be released?

[4173] Maybe he's got an upcoming project, maybe not. I have been attending these type of shows for many years. It's a great way for fans to meet and share a few moments with different celebrities. I have met many actors other the years: Angie Dickinson, Robert Conrad, Samantha Fox, George Hamilton, Carol Lynley, to name a few. The autograph and picture serve as great mementos.
Generally, the celebrities who appear at these shows are no A list anymore. The exception would be Comic Con, where Sylvester Stallone and the like were charging what I considered to be an outrageous amount of money, $485.
The Batman and Star Trek casts have been on the autograph circuit for many years. It definitely strokes their egos and mskes them feel like they are A list again, even just for the duration of the show. Plus, the transactions are all done in cash. How much of that is reported as income is between them and the IRS.

Unc's description was quite accurate but in this case, the answer to Patti's question is that the show is doing a North and South miniseries reunion with 10 actors and actresses  including Mitch attending. For the Dark Shadows fans, several DS alumni have appeared at previous shows such as KLS, Lara Parker, Jerry Lacy, Chris Pennock, John Karlen and Kate Jackson along with 91 series alumni Barbara Steele and Adrian Paul.

If you are unable to attend, autographed pictures of Mitch or any of the other celebrities can be purchased through The Hollywood Show. Prices vary but an autographed photo of Mr. Ryan would run $30, plus shipping.
Note: there's no way of knowing what pictures he would have have available. You can send in a picture but there is an additional charge of $3 to $5. If you're mailing a photo, the deadline is January 31st.

Unc, for now it looks like the 1 photo of Mitch they are selling in their merchandise store before the show is from North and South. They may add more after his appearance. There are autographed photos of KLS and Lara from DS available for sale from previous appearances.
