i rarely get excited about a film release but this looks great. i love the group of AG mysteries they did in the 1970s.

Yes, I'm looking forward to it too. I really enjoyed the 1974 version with Albert Finney as Hercule Poirot and a star studded cast in all the other roles. The PBS version was also quite good (though not quite as good and not quite as star studded - though it was for TV, so a lot of that is understandable). But this new one looks like a possible return to the type of cast and production values as the '74 version, with Depp taking on the role played by Richard Widmark in '74 and Pfeiffer taking on the role played by Lauren Bacall in '74...

it's interesting Depp would sign on for a "supporting" role. one could argue Poirot is the "lead" but otherwise it's a true ensemble. not a "star vehicle" for anyone involved.
