Despite its delay, or perhaps because of it, last night Elementary regained the top spot in its time period. In the Fast Overnights it bested Shades of Blue by 500,000 viewers and American Crime by 2.7M viewers.

Elementary Tonight - 10:34 or 10:35 (Eastern)
« Reply #31 on: March 27, 2017, 12:38:20 AM »
60 Minutes started seconds before 7:35

I know you always move this to the Elementary thread, but I want to make sure that the time stands out to alert anyone.  And, especially since you can move it, it seems better to keep doing a new thread.

But never until after the show has aired.  [ghost_nowink]

Exactly! And we definitely appreciate you doing it. In fact, I forgot it might be delayed tonight, so without you posting it for us, I know I probably would have missed recording more than half the ep...

Good news for CBS in the Fast Overnights: last night Madam Secretary and Elementary "enjoyed bigger audiences while hitting their best ratings since Dec. 18."

As for Elementary, once again it was #1 in it's time slot, besting Shades of Blue by 1.2M viewers (up from 500,000 last week) and American Crime by 4M viewers (up from 2.7M last week - but for some reason AC is really doing badly this season).

Ask Matt: ..., 'Elementary,' ..., and More
(Scroll down to question #5.)

I still say that when it comes to the show being renewed, what's more important than ratings is likely to be the renegotiating of the stars' contracts which presumably expire at the end of this 5th season...

I didn't see any announcements - I assume they are showing the full schedule and 60 Minutes started at 8.

Apparently canceled - it looks like they had the regular 8 and 9 o'clock shows on, but the news just came on instead of Elementary.  I wonder what they are doing on the West Coast.

If it's not on here, chances are it won't be on there either. That's the way it's worked with shows in the past. Local stations are not happy when their network wants to take a full hour away from them, so we really shouldn't be surprised. Though I have to confess I didn't even think of that when you posted 60 Minutes was delayed by an hour...

Oh, it's a repeat of an episode from last year.   [easter_sad]

Thank you, Midnite!  I figured they'd have a repeat, but it's nice to know definitely.

Looks like it was a good thing CBS didn't run Elementary last night:

"Over on CBS, a sizable golf delay (that buried poor Elementary in a veritable sand trap) knocked NCIS: LA and Madam Secretary down to respectively match and hit their series lows."

Elementary On Time Tonight!!
« Reply #43 on: April 17, 2017, 12:06:33 AM »
I wasn't going to post this, figuring I just needed to alert when it's delayed.  Then, I thought that since I've started posting these, if I don't post when it's on time, then if for some reason I don't know or don't get a chance to post in the future, it would appear that it's on time, when perhaps that wouldn't be true!!

Ratings: CBS' Bee Gees Salute Dominates Easter, But Elementary Slips

However, even though it slipped from its March 26th showing, it was still #1 in its timeslot, besting Shades of Blue by 500,000 viewers, which is actually back to the same margin it had against that show for its March 19th showing, and besting American Crime by 2.68M viewers, which is nearly the same margin (only off by 20,000) for that same week. So really, viewership was simply back to around what it normally is, whereas the viewership for March 26th was one of the show's highest of the season in the Fast Overnights...
