the Portia Fitzsimmons period. her lunchbox and action figure are covetable to this day...

Indeed! Her line is nearly as covetable as the one created for THE PEN...

Just stumbled upon the DS binge airing this morning as I was looking for background to grade final exams by.  I couldn't believe it.  What a delightful surprise to rediscover Jason smirking and grinning at Liz, as well as Mitch Ryan stumbling over his lines -- like old friends dropping by because they happened to be in the neighborhood.  I'm thrilled to see any DS episodes finding their way to rebroadcast.  Although Decades has a CBS affiliation, it also is affiliated with Weigel Broadcasting, which created the successful MeTV classic TV empire.

it is odd sort of "stumbling across" it (even though I know it's on) while flipping channels as opposed to proactively putting in a DVD. the first hint of one of the musical cues and you're drawn in.

I've had it on and off for a couple days...

right now we're at the point where Liz starts to hear the "wailing of the widows".

In case anyone wants to check out a specific ep or specific eps, these should be the ones that run on Friday (all times ET):

12am - 271 & 272    12pm - 295* & 296
 1am - 273 & 274     1pm - 297 & 298
 2am - 275 & 276     2pm - 299 & 300
 3am - 277 & 278     3pm - 301 & 302
 4am - 279 & 280     4pm - 303 & 304
 5am - 281 & 282     5pm - 305 & 306
 6am - 283 & 284     6pm - 307 & 308
 7am - 285 & 286     7pm - 309 & 310
 8am - 287 & 288     8pm - 311 & 312
 9am - 289 & 290     9pm - 313 & 314
10am - 291 & 292    10pm - 315 & 316
11am - 293 & 294    11pm - 317 & 318

* Once the eps switch to color, it will be interesting to see if Decades runs the old, often washed out versions of some of the eps or if they'll run the vibrant versions created for the DVDs...

I am really excited about DS being back on TV, even if it's only for a few days (for now). I don't have the Decades channel, but hopefully it'll turn up on Me-TV someday.

Can you access WBZ-TV from Boston?

Barnabas casts no reflection! Who would have guessed?  [wink2]

But at least Julia learned everything she needed to know.  [nodassent]

I've been out since about mid-morning ( soon after Julia discovered Barn in his coffin - ::gasp:: ::sniff:: ::clutch throat:: ::triumphant smile:: ) and just got back a short while ago. But I set my DVR to record what was going on while I was out and Decades has definitely been running the DVD versions of the color eps. I thought they probably would. But if this was still Worldvision and not CBS Television Distribution, who knows what versions they might of supplied to Decades because the people at Worldvision weren't exactly the sharpest tools in the shed when it came to things like skipping eps, mixing up eps, and who knows what else...

Barnabas (to Burke) - "I think of our relationship more as a duel. Two superb swordsmen with highly sharpened blades. You thrust, I parry. I thrust, you parry. "

More great stuff...

I do, but it's a CBS affiliate and they're just showing the news right now (and other regular shows like Judge Judy etc throughout the day). Maybe we get the one from Providence?

If you can get stations over the air, the CBS affiliate is channel 4.1 and Decades is channel 4.2. But if you can only get cable, try looking for WBZDT2. Some cable companies are carrying it - but others aren't...

I had to call my cable company for something else today, so I asked about it.  She looked it up and all she could find is the local CBS station and another station which does an early newscast for that station.  But, those are obviously carrying their regular programming.  They certainly can't air this too, so it makes no sense.  She couldn't give me another station to watch this on.

Try checking this list here to see if Decades might be available in your area. The list seems to be complete up to May 12th, but it's hard to tell if every affliiate is there. And I tried looking on Decades own site for a list of affiliates, but unless I'm blind to the link, strangely, I couldn't find any list there...
