With SOOO MANY channels, etc to chose from, I don't believe I've heard of this station??

(Side note, I got my 'free extras for our customers' letter from Dish, INCLUDING 'THE' LETTER STATING YET AGAIN, MY RATE is going up againstillmore. On my laptop, on a news info, listed top 15 wealthies people in the world, who in 10 years will own 50% of the entire worlds wealth. Yup, it included the owner of Dish, and YUP YUP, I posted a pic of my rate increase & the wealthy dude on my FB page.) (*&&%&*( MF!!!

Very intriguing. And the station will be available in my area (interestingly on a sub-station that hasn't been available until now).

Though who knows if DS will continue beyond the 68-hour 'Binge' marathon? I suppose that all depends on how well it does... But I'll definitely set my DVR for it...

Thanks for the info, Gothick!  [snow_smiley]

'Decades....Network'.

Don't mean to be a stickler, but aren't THE networks ABC, NBC, CBS and Fox?

Is this an addendum to one of the above?

Don't forget, on Dish, we DON'T have MeTV (or MyTV).

Sounds groovy though.

How many of our cousins have this?

It is CBS owned. And operated according to the article. If I recall correctly.

If Comcast has not added Decades by May 13 WCBS is easiest Digital New York TV stations to pick up via antenna here In Central New Jersey just outside of Princeton. It still is takes a bit of work and adjustment. In my area Decades is on WCBS 2.3 and KYW 3.3.

what on earth is with Mr. McBride's sour grapes attitude about this launch  [snow_huh]

where does he think an old soap opera is supposed to be reaired??? obviously I own the series on DVD but I think this airing is a cool thing. I don't have cable but I just learned I get this channel over-the-air. it's a goof. and a little goes a LONG way but it's evocative of the cozy old "nick-at-nite" lineups. a caught a couple episodes of 'get smart' last week that were fun.

I think this is a 3 day "binge". obviously this will not cover the entire 1225. do we know what pair of the series will be shown??? I will assume based on how the series has been syndicated in the past beginning with the episode 201 Barnabas release and proceeding from there?

I think it's cool.

I don't know Wallace McBride and I am only slightly familiar with the Collinsport Historical Society but I found the tone of his article rather strange. If you have no love for nostalgia, then why are you involved in fandom in the first place? [snow_huh]

if I could guess...and this is just a guess...there is a fringier element of the fandom that wants it to be taken more "seriously" with a capital S...

not associate it with kitsch or camp or nostalgia or feminine "soap opera" connotations. but serious, macho "sci-fi" stuff.

for me the naive 'time capsule" element of it is intrinsically part of it's charm.

Based on information I've seen, they are airing the whole first syndication cycle, from 210-340.

That would be great - much better than jumping around different storylines.

I've checked into Decades a few times just to see if there were any promos for DS that could give a clue as to what they're planning, but I've yet to see anything...

Speaking of Decades, I just noticed they're starting a Kung Fu marathon at 8pm ET tonight and Lara Parker's ep is the first one up. So, I've set my DVR to record it...

'Decades' has been "binging" 'Love American Style' this weekend...

yesterday I happened to catch Kathy Cody's episode. she and Davey Jones played a pair of "newlyweds" who were too poor to afford their own apartment. so they broke into a department store every night after it closed and "camped out" in the home section.

needless to say it was pretty hokey.  [snow_rolleyes]

Love, American Style also aired a segment that featured Roy Clark and Carolyn Groves, the third Victoria Winters. She's very pretty but hokey doesn't begin to describe it.
