how about some "vintage" ideas.. . .things that the characters could've actually listened too .. . I think Julia was a big Frank Sinatra fan .. am I wrong??? David probably had some Monkees albums or something. . ?? Carolyn. . .?? Maybe Quentin, being so hip, had some Motown???

I understand Mrs. Johnson had a radio in the kitchen, although I believe she would listen to soaps or the local gossip show..

Elizabeth... was always a big band fan and listened to the sounds of Benny Goodman
Roger... seems like he would enjoy cocktail music.
Carolyn was always the hip chick and always enjoyed the Blue Whale songs.
David looks like he would have been a Beatles fan, isn't that a Beatles hair cut he has?
Vickie is more into the romance songs of the Carpenters
or sunny and cher.
Barnabas was never one to listen to anything but live music, his favorites being string quartets and believe it or not flute music.
Quentin, being the romantic searching soul can only enjoy music that gives him peace... or CCR's Bad Moon Rising.
Julia's music taste has always been one of fun and frolic, songs such as the lime in the coconut, my friend the witchdoctor, or doctor, doctor.
Maggie was always into music box's

Elizabeth: Big band type music and Frank Sinatra and similar singers. :)

Carolyn: whatever was cool in the 60's:Beatles and the like. 8)

Roger: Same as elizabeth. :)

David: Same as carolyn. :)

Julia: Same as elizabeth, although i think she could "dig" some rock.Favorite songs could include "good time girl" sung by Nancy Sinatra and "dream a little dream of me" by The Mamas and Papas. ;)

Barnabas:He would like classical music, although he might get used to ,say, a frank sinatra or similar musician.MAY get into some rock(longshot).Favorite song could be "i don't live today" by Jimi Hendrix. ;)

Quentin:i think he would be cool with whatever style of music was current. ;)

Mrs. J:Same as elizabeth.  :)

Cassie: I think she's like any music.Favorite would probably be "witchcraft" as sung by Sinatra. ;D

Dear Julia99,

I believe that we've listed appropriate songs for DS characters in the past.  However, here's a few that I can think of:

Roger to Elizabeth: "What Do The Common Folk Do?" from the hit Broadway musical "Camelot"

Nicholas Blair: "You're So Vain" by Ms. Carly Simon

Mrs.  Sarah Johnson: "Beast of Burden" by Mick Jagger and Keith Richards

Willie Loomis: "Had Enough" by Pete Townsend

Dr. Julia Hoffman: "Constant Craving" by K. D. Lang

Rev. Gregory Trask: "Positively 4th Street" by "The Man"

Bob Rooney:  "Show Me The Way To the Next Whiskey Bar" by Jim Morrison

Buzz Hackett: "Born To be Wild" by John Kay

Ezra Braithewaite: "Smooth Operator" by Sade

Caroyn Stoddard: "Looking For Love In All the Wrong Places" by Tommie Lee (?)

Jeff Clark: "19th Nervous Breakdown" by Mick Jagger and Keith Richards

Dr. Eric Lang: "Monster Mash" by Mike Love (?)

Sincerely,

Bob the Bartender, who can't wait for the release of the new album, "Kathie Lee Gifford and Michael Jackson Sing The Love Songs Of Joey Ramone."

There would be something both cool and creepy to have Barnabas croon "Girl, You'll Be A Woman Soon " to either Victoria or Maggie...
BARNABAS: Here at Collinwood, old hates don't die. They lie in wait for the innocent and unsuspecting...

QUENTIN: We're guaranteed to make you believe (spells) exist. Our entire family can be explained in no other way...

I imagine Julia sitting in her room at night, cigarettes and brandy by her side, listening to Judy Garland's "The Man That Got Away" over and over and over...

Regards,

John
